Psychotherapy

I believe a life consists of many intertwined lives. We are not just one person throughout our lives, but many different people. A big part of being human is change, which is great but can also be confusing. As a therapist, I hope to help people navigate the transitions in their lives with grace and dignity.

Interventions

How do you know if it’s time for someone you love to get help? If it is time, how do you best help them? How do you work to get the best chance that they will accept treatment.

Therapeutic Placement

Sometimes seeing a therapist is not enough. When someone needs, or wants, to go to get more intensive treatment there are tons of options. Too many options. I spend a considerable amount of time visiting treatment centers all over the country to meet their clinicians and to see what their current level of care is.

Coaching

Everybody could use a coach. It’s nice to have someone on your team. I provide parent coaching for parents who have kids in treatment (whether that kid is 14 or 40).

About Peter Stuart MA, LMFT

Peter Stuart LMFT

I After growing up in NY, I went to Northwestern University in Chicago. From Chicago, I went back to NY to fulfill dreams of being a songwriter and musician. I spent much of the ’90s and early 00’s on the road playing music around the world with stops to live in NY, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas and long layover in Los Angeles. While in LA, I got sober, got bored with touring, worked at some treatment centers, got into working with newly sober folks who were returning to high risk environments (films, rock and roll touring, professional sports, home) and then went back to school to get a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles.
